Pain can hinder a pet’s ability to heal from injuries, surgeries, or diseases. Effective pain management is often critical in helping an animal return to full health.
We Know Pain When We See It
Many pet owners are blown away by their pet’s ability to communicate with humans. A dog, for instance, may sit outside of a door if they want to go outside. However, sometimes pets are incapable of demonstrating to humans that they are in pain. In some cases, they even try to hide symptoms from their owners. Our staff is comprised of experts at identifying when an animal is in pain, as they are trained to spot the various signs of discomfort.
Surgical Procedures
Everhart Veterinary Hospital performs surgical procedures from spays & neuters to orthopedics. All patients that undergo surgery will receive a combination of pain relievers throughout the procedure. This includes local anesthetics, nerve blocks, epidurals, opioids, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
Our Treatments For Pain Relief
Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy is the latest technology in non-invasive pain management for your pet. Laser Therapy will increase the release of endorphins which aid in pain relief and reduction of inflammation. The deep, soothing light from the laser targets injured tissues and cells to accelerate repair and growth.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body to bring about a healing effect. It stimulates nerves, releases of neurotransmitters and hormones, increases blood flow, and improves relaxation. It also yields relief of pain and disease symptoms.
