"Tyson"
Meet Tyson (aka "Bubba"), a 4-year old Male Boxer Mix who belongs to Marla, one of Everhart Veterinary Hospital's Client Service Representatives. And rest assured, she also belongs to him!
Tyson was abandoned by previous owners at another veterinary hospital in Timonium, MD when he was about 3-1/2 months old. Thankfully, he was taken in and fostered by one of their Veterinary Technicians along with several other dogs that had been abandoned.
When Marla wanted to adopt a dog, she was considering one of the other available dogs but found out that the one she was interested in had just been adopted out that morning. When she took a look at the remaining dogs, she fell in love with Tyson. She adopted him from her at-home rescue, which was self-funded. (The dog she originally wanted to adopt was actually returned the very next day, so she felt like it was fate that she and Tyson ended up together.)
And by the way, Marla named him Tyson after "Iron Mike Tyson", the human boxer version, because he liked to chew on his playmates ears. : )
Marla was working as a veterinary assistant at the time she adopted him at 4 months old, and she made sure he received all his vaccinations and was treated for intestinal parasites. He was also responsibly neutered at 5 months old. His first year he had alot of health problems with his sensitive stomach and skin. He was also very hard to house break, but it was well worth the time and effort.
Tyson is the rare dog that likes to go to the vet since he basically grew up in them, often coming to work with Marla. He's now almost 5 years old, still very energetic, loves to hike and play ball, and he is definitely a "Mama's Boy".
