Meet Spike, a very special Rat Terrier.  For the record, according to his Mom, Allison (a Technician at Everhart Veterinary Hospital), he is also the "Cutest Dog Ever!"

 

Spike was adopted from the Maryland SPCA on Falls Road in April of 2008, He was approximately 2-1/2 years old when Allison and her husband Taylor adopted him.  His previous owners surrendered him because he did not get along with their other dog. 

 

Spike was heartworm positive and undergoing treament when they met him.  As soon as she saw him, she knew she had to have him right away!

 

Since adopting him, he's become the patriarch of their pack!  He spends most of his days at home lying in the sun, and wrestling with his companion, Daisy.

  

During the summers he travels with his Dad all over the country with The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps.  He's an avid hiker and even packs his own food and waste!

   

He's not like a typical Rat Terrier in that he doesn't like to swim, but he does like to chase squirrels on occasion. Most of all, he loves to snuggle with his pack on the couch in the evenings just before bed time.
